Athletic's last game

Today was the last game for the spring T-ball season.
The boys had a great game as always!
They were alittle louder today then previous games........maybe because they knew we were going out to celebrate after the game.

We all went to Beefy's Restaurant after the game, where the kids played outside and the parents mingled.

After everyone had eaten, Coach Carl passed out trophies.

Here, Joaquin #10 was called to go receive his trophy.

Joaquin's Dino Four Party

Joaquin is officially… FOUR and of course we celebrated with
a DINO FOUR ROAR Party, his absolute favorite.
Here are a few pictures I would like to share.

These were the invitations we sent out for the party.
The eggshell paper used is scrapbooking paper from Hobby Lobby and the white egg is just regular white cardstock paper.

I used the same T-Rex picture from the invitations to do
the name tags with all the kids names for the candy bags.

My best friend Valarie showed up a litte earlier to help me
decorate before the party started.
Victoria, one of Victoria's friend and Edgar (jr)
helped decorate the food table and the sweet treats table too.

I had an arts and craft area as well for the kids to do something to do
while they waited for other kids to arrive and for the food to be served.

We had the party at a park, so the kids had the playground to play with as well.

We served hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone.
Joaquin sat next to Jonathan who is one of his best friends.

 After the kids ate they:
- dug for dinosaurs
- had  washable dino tattoos
- hit the Teradactyl Dinosaur pinata

 Victoria was our tattoo girl.
She rubbed washable dinosaur tattoos on the kids arms and cheeks.
Here she is flaunting her dino tattoo on her arm.

We ended the party singing Happy Birthday to Joaquin!

Diego was MIA during the entire party.
He played at the playground instead.
He absoulelty LOVES the playground and the slides.
He did not want any pictures taken, and did not want to play
any of the party games .
Here is Diego playing in the playground.

Dear Joaquin,

All that I can say is that being your mom makes me want to wake up in the morning. My eyes light up when you come into the room, your laughter sounds like music to my ears, and I love all the "WHY" questions you ask every day.
I can say that the day God saw fit to let me be your mom was the day He created a new space in my heart just for you. A space that is every bit as special and cozy and perfect and open for more growth as Diego's space or Daddy's space. And that I'm so glad that He did.

All that I can say is that my life is indescribably better with you in it.
That you make me desire to be a better human being.
And that every day, even if it makes me cry a little bit, I make myself realize that seeing your face and touching your cheek and smelling your skin is not a guarantee. . . but a privilege that I should never take for granted.

And that I promise to make my LOVE for you a verb every single day so that you grow up feeling and knowing and believing and internalizing the love in my eyes that sometimes has to speak for all that I cannot say.

Happy 4th Birthday, son. . . .

Teacher Appreciation Week

What does this week mean?
It means it's a great time to let the teachers in our life know
how much we appreciate what they do for us.

I expected great things this past year from Joaquin's daycare and I must admit I have not been disappointed.
Joaquin always has positive things to say about his class, from
Ms. Bonnie's animated storytelling to the kindness on the playground.
It's comforting to know that not only is he getting a great education,
but he is happy at school as well.

Since it is Joaquin's 1st year in daycare
I decided to do something small and simple for his teacher (Ms. Bonnie).
We made her a candy vase. We bought a glass vase and 3 boxes of crayons at the dollar tree store and we filled the vase with life saver candies from Target.
Joaquin helped me with this project and had so much fun.

Easter Sunday

We went to Orange Grove for our Easter weekend and
had a very nice, fun, family weekend.
My inlaws have a nice, green spacious back yard where the boys
LOVE to play and run around.
Here are a few photos to share:

Joaquin posing with his little yellow wabbit.

Here we are trying to get the cousins together for a picture with their auntie.
Aunt Chana (Roxanne) is Robert's sister
and she loves her nephews and nieces very much.
Everyone decided to do their own pose.

Cousins, grandkids, nephews, nieces and neighbor kids
all join in for the Easter Egg Hunt.

Robert helped Diego during his hunt .

Joaquin going back afterwards to make sure no eggs were left behind.

Robert and his brother getting the Easter Bunny pinata
prepared for the kids to break.

That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Happy Easter!

Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3

Today we went to go see Disney on Ice
before we head out of town for Easter weekend.
The theme this year was Toy Story 3!

Joaquin has gone to the Disney on Ice shows the last 2 years
but today was Diego's 1st time going.

My best friend Valarie and her husband Edgar are both Joaquin and Diego's Godparents (Nino and Nina) and have turned the Disney on Ice shows into a traditional visit every year. They are the ones that have taken Joaquin in the past and the ones that planned to take the boys this year again.
Robert and I decided to join them to see what Disney on Ice was all about.
I must admit, it was a real treat.

Nino was not able to get out of work on time to meet us, but as you can see Nina spent great quality time with the boys.

This was as serious as the boys were going to be during a picture with their nina. Diego was so facinated with the swirly light toy nina bought him
and Joauqin was super excited with the show
and the toys nina bought him too, that he was being silly.

Rockport Wedding

We headed out this past weekend to Rockport, TX to celebrate
the wedding of one of our couple friends:
Oscar and Kendra

The boys were dropped off with my in-laws Saturday morning and we headed to Rockport for a nice short weekend getaway with no kids.

The wedding was absolutely amazing!
The mass was held in a nice historical catholic church Sacred Heart Church
close to the bay.

It was a romantic beach front wedding and the atmosphere
was so nice with a great venue and nice weather.

The bride and groom requested to have a photo booth
for their guest to take snap shots during the wedding reception.
This was such a CUTE idea!

Oscar and Robert have been friends since elementary
and have kept in touch ever since.

I had the pleasure to meet Kendra a couple of years ago, after they moved here and we hit it off right away. She is a nice, beautiful, outgoing, generous, warm heart person and they are both very lucky to have each other in their life’s.

CONGRATULATIONS OSCAR AND KENDRA!
